The Samsung Omnia Lite might fall into the class of the growing trend of smart phones that are also quite reasonable. But just because it is affordable, doesn't mean this cell telephone from Samsung was built and designed from spare parts ; no, it would appear this cell-phone has something to offer and could have just the right mixture of cost, functionality, and style to be topical.
The Design
First, let us look at its design. It would seem that Samsung has taken this aspect as the primary source of shaving costs to supply the Samsung Omnia Lite. It only has a three in. screen, with 240 x four hundred pixel display. This makes some of the texts, particularly those that are cramped together closely a little tough to read but legible nevertheless. Its 4.21 x 2.04 x 0.51 in. body is sufficient to be ready to absolutely grasp it in an average-sized hand. Overall, the design looks a little plain and boxy but it isn't a deal-breaker. It still has some style to it, even tho it's more of the major and classic style instead of the exciting and young style we are far more used to seeing.
The Functionality
The Samsung Omnia Lite runs on Windows Mobile 6.5, that means that this new cell-phone, though specified in the lower market, is a new-generation smart telephone however. This is good to hear, since it was expected this unit would be running on the older 6.1 version. Yes, it's been upgraded, the sole problem is, the issues of the old version haven't been cleared up in the new one ( like the issues with contacts, calendars, etc ). The Samsung Omnia Lite also incorporates a huge array of applications, which only proves how much the Samsung team thought and planned about the mobile phone's software functionality ( which is usually a good thing ). These include applications for your contacts, calendar, file boss, written and voice notes, a Java emulator, multimedia player, photograph album, settings, a unit converter, a Web browser, and other applications. The TouchWiz 2.0 interface may also be launched, which further increases functionality and straightforwardness of access to the different applications in the telephone. Web may also be accessed by using Net Explorer six, as well as Opera Mobile, though using the previous does get to be a little slow and Opera Mobile is still the one better suited for the system. It's also got a respectable 3.2 megapixel camera, with flash, accelerometer, GPS and FM radio capacities, a microSDslot, and a microUSB port.
The Decision
Overall, the Samsung Omnia Lite isn't the best smart telephone in the market today. It doesn't measure up to the standards and features of the Iphone or any top of the range Blackberry nonetheless it does measure up, and even exceeds the expectancies of a budget smart telephone. It might not be an attention-grabbing cell telephone that splurges out the latest features and applications right and left but it's a smart 'smart telephone'. That is, it is for the folks that desire just the correct quantity of functionality and style, without having to shell out an huge sum of cash.
